This line is the historical icon of Cereria Pernici, unique and unrepeatable. The result of the
innovative and far-sighted creativity of Domenico Pernici in the 1950s, it is the creation that links
the company of today with its roots and which renews tradition with a modern interpretation.
Wrapped: this is how the line of “dressed” candles, enswathed or, rather, wrapped in the famous
leaf of metallic and printed wax is defined. Thanks to research and technology, today every
possible transformation by theme and colour is possible, but what these creations convey
is that they are unique and unrepeatable. Cereria Pernici is the only company in the world that
has been able to transform a leaf of metallic wax into a water-printed, four-colour and embossed,
that means in relief, sheet. This creation, precisely because it is unique, has always been sought
after and sold on all international markets.
Why purchase or give a “wrapped” candle? Because the covering gives it a theme and original
and exquisite added value. This is how a candle becomes a distinctive gift and a customized
message.
Technology does not slow down its fast running and Pernici “moves with the times” by renovating and modernizing its historical icon: the metallic wax sheet. Borrowing a trend that in the fashion world is known as “cut out” or laser cutting, Pernici traditional handicraft joins the most innovative technology. The characteristic processes such as screen printing, inkjet printing and embossing are now improved by the use of cutting carbon dioxide laser, one of the most powerful and reliable laser technique currently available. Born in the Sixties, the carbon dioxide laser or CO2 laser is one of the most used systems ever in the field of industrial processes and not only, thanks to its precision and high quality standard in results. Laser cutting working also has the advantage of using low-impact machinery polluting, with processing techniques that take place in full respect of the environment: an aspect on which Pernici has always shown attention and responsibility. Managed by a dedicated software and thanks to the expertise of industry professionals who were able to calibrate the correct speed operation, laser cutting technique, using thousands of pulses per second, cuts the metallic wax sheet without damaging or deforming it. Beautiful geometric abstractions take shape under the ray of infrared light, ready to wear precious scented candles. Sophisticated techniques and craftsmanship are interwoven throughout the manufacturing process: from completely manual screen printing done carefully step by step, to punch pressing the wax sheet to fix colored glitter, from laser cutting that materializes arabesques and decors, to wrapping or “dressing” the perforated wax sheet around the candle, operation performed by expert hands with care and precision, sheet by sheet. Since 1892 Pernici has made a long journey in the world of decoration creating collections that have always stood for quality and elegance: the laser cut is only the last stage but, we know, it’s going to be soon overtaken by new ideas and inventions.
